Google Adsense for My Blog | MysticPosting

 Last night, I was surfing the internet. I had nothing much to do, so I opened my Blog's setting and found out something strange. My Google AdSense account was still not activated. Let me explain the scenario.

Google AdSense is a program by GOOGLE where content creators or anyone else can create their account. I mentioned content creators differently because content creators are the people that get paid directly by google because of this program. This program links content creators to the advertisers . Social Media Marketing also uses this program to advertise their products. Google has a lot of data about their users . So, they can provide with the best relatable advertise anyone may want. That's the reason many people use google in the first page. Yes, it is frightening when we think Google is collecting so much our data but to me, it's serving its purpose. We are getting a lot of free services that we take for granted. Without google, our internet uses would have been a misery. Think about using Bixby or Yahoo for our daily tasks. 

So to provide proper ad to the targeted customer, google verify the content creators and their contents. When I signed in for the program, they planned on crawling through my blog and figure if I was worthy enough to host ads. It generally takes a few weeks to verify but because of pandemic, it could have taken longer. But it's been almost 7/8 months. Surely something was wrong. 

I started troubleshooting and firstly I figured my blog was not indexed in Google Search Console . What is Google Search Console? Google Search Console is a console that shows the traffics in your website. The impressions they have about your website and much more. There is a feature called indexing which means if Google's search engine knows about your website or not. In other words, If someone searches for something, will google recommend your website or not. Indexing is done by google bots which are like spiders. They crawl through the webpage and figure out its contents. They also find the possible places to show ads and they even crawl through the pages you link to. It's a very advanced thing but a essential part of Google search. It allows Google to find new website and register them in their index so that those pages can be suggested in future Google searches. 

I went to Google Search Console >> URL inspection and requested indexing. It took me a few minutes and then my blog was indexed in google. Now, I could just search my blogs name (Mysticposting) and google would  show my blog in search results . One thing to remember here, the website you're trying to index must be running for couple of months at least before it is indexed. And without indexing, AdSense will not show ads cause it's not getting traffic from google search. The traffic we get without being indexed is through the links we share on our social media. So, there is no need for a search engine in between your link and the website. That's the reason Google can not use ads and frankly Google do not even care about this type of website. In the end, Indexing is a must to be qualified for AdSense.

After indexing my blog in Google Search Console, I went on the Google Support Forum and posted the problems I was having. This community is super helpful and one kind hearted man helped me within a  few minutes. He pointed out the mistakes I have made and suggested me to post more frequently with original content. I'll try to post at least once a week from now on and let's see. One more thing that I have found out was that personal blog like this do not have much of a future as a career option unless you are a celebrity or you post on controversial topics. As I am none of that, there is not that much of a chance of this being my daily occupation. So, this blog will be just for me, my kids and my Friends to know how I used to pass my time. It's kind of fun if you ask me. 

Final words, my AdSense request is still under observation. I am not thinking about that right now. My main target is to write at least two post a week. This will help me keep log of everything I do and it will help me improve my social skills in a weird way. I think this blog will be a fun place to hang out after a couple of year. Till then, let's be productive.
