Controversy between Doctor and Police | MysticPosting

 It's 19th April, 2021. Bangladesh is at it's second lockdown. This time it is more strict than ever. No one is allowed to travel without passes. There are no public transports. Only way to go somewhere is to use a private vehicle. But there are Police everywhere checking whether those people actually need to get out or not. 

Yesterday, a incident happened in Dhaka. One doctor, traveling via her own vehicle was stopped and asked to show her pass. She didn't have her pass with her but she had her apron on. Also, she had a signed doctor logo on the front glass of her car. The police at first politely asked her to show the documents necessary. But the doctor became hyper and claimed to be harassed . I watched the video a couple of time. Frankly speaking, I didn't get the part where she was harassed. 

Let's fall back a little. The scenario can be seen via both prospective. Firstly, let's talk about police's point of view. Police are instructed to check for the passes so that random people do not walk around the street during this lockdown. Corona Virus is spreading more than ever and per day death has crossed 100 today. So, the government is doing their best to keep people on lockdown so that the spreading reduces. To maintain this lockdown, police is playing a crucial role. Police van is on petrol all day and night long. As a result only people with need are getting out of their home. To maintain this scene, police check everyone outside their home and ask for their reason to be outside. If they find the reason unsatisfactory, they force the people to go back home. It's a great work they are doing, in my opinion. So, stopping the doctor and asking her for her pass was a normal thing to do.

Now, let's talk about the doctor's point of view. Almost all of us have been harassed by police in our life. There are some inappropriate policemen. They will stop random people for no apparent reason. Search for a lot of reason to fine them and finally fine them or get a bribe. Yes, it's more common than one may imagine. As a teenager, the fear of getting caught by police was serious despite being the fact that I am innocent. They can just want to check me and next thing we see is a drug coming out of our pocket. Police have done this many times. Many may argue but truth to be told, there are some nasty people in police force. My Uncle is the Police Super of the district BHOLA and I can surely say that not all of them are bad but there are some black sheep. So, when the doctor saw the police stopping her car, the doctor felt harassed. It kind of makes sense but she should have confirmed the situation first. What I mean by that is, she should have not been the one to shout at first. She should have co operated with the police as she had the right to stay outside and travel. As she had done nothing wrong, she should have cooperated until the police did something that can actually be called harassment. 

The controversy starts from a few statements the doctor stated. First one was, she is a daughter of a Bir-Bikram. Bir-Bikram is a honor given to a few selected freedom fighter for their bravery in 1971. But I am sure her father did not want her to use it in this scenario. Again, police and magistrate present there also claimed to be the son of a freedom fighter. This means they both are in equal ground. No one should be shouting to another at this point. Both of them are highly educated people of this country. The next controversial statement she gave was that she got chance in medical and that's the reason she became the doctor. No argument here, but the controversy starts at the second part of the statement. She stated, the police did not get chance in medical and that's the reason he is a police now. The statement may be true only in a few sense but in a real world, there is a lot of reason one may be a police. Not every police have failed in medical admission test. This does not prove any supremacy. In my sense, it is idiotic. She is a highly educated person. She had so many more things to argue about but she did say something so wrong that made this whole thing a joke.  

Final word, as things happen in our country, people will make memes about it and forget it within a month. But this incident shows us some things, 

• People in our country do not trust police
• People with link up dominates over the minority
• People's feeling can be played with if you play the right cards at the right time (Just saying, if she did not pretended to be a doctor and gained doctor sympathy this story would not have gotten this viral in the first place)
• Anger makes you say idiotic stuffs

I am a peaceful guy. I think, this scenario can be handled more gently. As the police did not shouted at the first place, the situation should have been much quieter in my case. And also, if a Engineer was in this spot, no one would have given a shit about it. Because of two thing, one there is no alumni of engineer to regulate their rights and two there is a lot of claimed engineer without proper qualification and jobs.
